Dr. Peter Scharfenberger was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University. After graduating from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, he served his internship, residency and chief residency in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He was associated in the practice of oral surgery with Dr. Eugene Friedman in Massapequa Park, New York and joined in practice with Drs. Berg, Morris and Bass in 1990. Dr. Scharfenberger is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is a Fellow of the New York State Society and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and presently serves as an oral surgery consultant of HIP of Greater New York.
