Mission Statement

Our key objective is to be the most highly respected oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in our community. We strive to be an acknowledged leader in the art and science of oral and maxillofacial surgery, anesthesia and pain control, implantology and facial cosmetic services. Compassionately providing the highest level of surgical care possible to our patients allows us to achieve this goal. We look forward to earning the confidence of our patients and, in turn, treating their families and friends.
Background Information
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to six (6) additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training after four years of dental school. Our doctors manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our practice provides the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from extractions, wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery and minimally invasive facial rejuvenation procedures such as Restylane® and Juvederm®. The doctors can also diagnose and treat facial pain, infections, facial injuries and TMJ disorders.
Our doctors are fully trained in I.V. sedation as well as general anesthesia, both of which are administered within our state of the art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during surgery.
Initial Visit
Many surgeries can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require a second appointment to provide treatment.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation/surgery:
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 years of age at the consultation visit. For patients having IV sedation or general anesthesia; please have nothing to eat or drink 6 hours prior to your surgery except for medications. You will also need an adult to drive you home.
Prior to surgery, please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern or require antibiotic premedication (i.e. heart murmur, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently being treated with anticoagulant therapy (e.g. coumadin). In such instances the alteration of coumadin dosage may be necessary. We do not want you to adjust the medication yourself, as this could increase the risk of developing the problem for which the medication has been prescribed.
X-Rays
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, bring them with you. You may request that they forward them to our office if time permits. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility. Or you may e-mail them to Info@plainvieworalsurgery.com
