Meet Dr. Hirsch
Dr. Hirsch was born and raised on Long Island and has been practicing Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in Levittown since 1983. In 2018 he merged practices with Plainview and Massapequa Oral and Implant Surgery which was then relocated to a new state of the art office at 2920 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown.
Dr. Hirsch graduated from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1969 with a B.S. degree in biology. He then attended Columbia University College of Dental Medicine graduating in 1973 with a DDS degree and numerous honors including being elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society, American College of dentist’s award for outstanding achievement and leadership, American Academy of Oral Pathology Award and Van Woert Scholarship and Award for outstanding graduating student. While at Columbia Dr. Hirsch served as student body president 1972-1973 and president of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity 1972-1973. Following graduation Dr. Hirsch began Oral and Maxillofacial surgery internship and residency advanced training at the Mt. Sinai Hospital and Medical Center from 1973-1976. While there he served as Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at The MT. Sinai Hospital, Elmhurst-City Hospital Center, and the Bronx V.A. Hospital. During his residency he obtained extensive training and expertise in the entire range of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Hirsch in currently a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow of the N.Y.S. society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Fellow of The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Diplomate of the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology, Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a life Fellow of The International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In the past, Dr. Hirsch has served on the Nassau County Dental Society Ethics Committee, Assistant Clinical Dentist at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and as a medical staff member at numerous hospitals. He is currently certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Dr. Hirsch enjoys spending his leisure time with his wife of almost 50 years, his 3 children, and 6 wonderful grandchildren. He is an enthusiastic sports fan and attends as many N.Y. Mets and L.I. Ducks games as possible. He is also a long time car enthusiast who enjoys attending car shows, driving new models and working on his own cars.
